Castagneto Carducci, is located in Tuscany, near Livorno, in the well-known Costa degli Etruschi (Etruscan Coast).
Castagneto is a hilltop charming medieval village, overlooking the seaside, surrounded by woods, olive groves and vineyards. It is the perfect place where you can completely relax yourself in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere , “far from the madding crowd”, in the enchanting Tuscany countryside, between the sea and the rolling hills of Maremma.
In these places, the famous Italian poet Giosuè Carducci spent his childhood that longingly recalls in some of his most famous poems such as Davanti San Guido and San Martino.
Castagneto Carducci can be easily reached by car with the motorway A12 direction Rosignano Solvay then the highway SS1 direction Grosseto. It is also well connected by train to Pisa, Pisa airport, Livorno and Florence.
The apartments are ideally located in Castagneto, in a quiet residential area, within walking distance from the historic centre, reachable with a nice stroll… and without concerns about parking!
There you can enjoy pleasant evenings admiring the amazing sunsets, participating to events and festivals while tasting local specialties and the excellent local wines in the typical “osterie” or simply walking through the picturesque streets of the hamlet or through the vineyards and olive groves of the Tuscan countryside.
Our holiday home is about 6 km away from the seaside and the beautiful pinewood of Marina di Castagneto, 4 km from Donoratico, 25 km from Cecina 12 km from the touristic harbour of San Vincenzo.
In the surroundings (12 Km) you can also discover Bolgheri. With its famous Viale dei Cipressi, a beautiful cypress-lined avenue. This small picturesque village is an enchanting corner of Tuscany that can be reached through one of the main Wine Road in Italy, the charming "Wine Road of the Etruscan Coast". There you can have a break drinking a glass of tasty wine and visit the estates of some of the most prestigious Italian winemakers, to discover how some of the most well-recognized Italian wines, such as Super Tuscans Sassicaia and Ornellaia, are produced.
Its position on the hillside (Castagneto Carducci is located about 200 mt. on sea level) and proximity to the sea with its pleasant breezes, ensure a dry, enjoyable cool and windy climate even during the hottest months.
